Hong’s academic achievements include being a student researcher for the Summer Science Program in Biochemistry at Indiana University, an AP Scholar with Distinction, and a recipient of the Brian and Iris Na Foundation Scholarship.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Hong is a cellist with the Youth Philharmonic at California State University, Northridge. He has also been actively involved in community service, including participating in a fundraising concert for hospice patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia. He plans to study biochemistry at Rice University.

The Milken Family Foundation, founded in Santa Monica in 1989, annually awards $10,000 scholarships to high school seniors based on academic excellence, community service, leadership, and the ability to overcome adversity. This year, 16 scholars were selected, including Hong.
