MPI Modern Pilates, the leading Pilates company in South Korea, is expanding to the United States. Modern Pilates, known for its Pilates training of top celebrities such as BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Jeon Somi, has been assisting with physical fitness, injury prevention, body and weight management, and rehabilitation throughout the growth of Korean pop stars.

“Now, we are going global,” said the company, “and we look forward to becoming a leader in Korean-style health and beauty.”

“Education is one of our core values,” said Hang Jin Kim, CEO of Modern Pilates and the team doctor of Korean Entertainment management giant JYP, whose artists include idol groups like 2PM and Got7, “and teaching it right is our management philosophy.”

One of the keys to Modern Pilates’ success is its innovative education programs. The company offers Pilates instructor training, as well as classes and workshops for members to learn and train at their own level.

As Modern Pilates enters the U.S. market, it plans to accelerate its expansion by partnering with a number of health and wellness companies in the country.

The company also plans to establish strategic alliances with local partners to reach a broader customer base and strengthen its presence in the U.S. market. “Entering the U.S. is a great challenge and opportunity,” said Kim. “We are excited to make a leap forward as a global brand and expand healthy lifestyles around the world.”

The first step in the U.S. market is to recruit students for the International Instructor Program. The program is the same as the Modern Pilates certification in Australia and is valid in the U.S., Korea, and Australia. Students can register for classes online in the U.S., take courses, and earn certification. Certification will allow them to work as a Modern Pilates instructor, branch manager, fitness center or rehabilitation center, or start a private Pilates studio.

Modern Pilates was founded in 2004 by Kyu Dong Lim, and it is the first Pilates training academy in Korea. Modern Pilates is a program that combines traditional kinesiology, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and postural treatment with Pilates as supplemented by Eve Gentry, a student of Joseph Pilates who invented Pilates, and developed by Penelope Latey.
