Trader Joe’s cooler tote bag goes viral, $3.99 now reselling for $59.95 on eBay

Another Trader Joe’s product is sparking a frenzy over store shelves.

On June 4, Trader Joe’s dropped a new item with its famous logo, and this time it’s mini insulated tote bags. The $3.99 cooler bags come in two colors, hot magenta and cool teal, and they are available for a limited time and in limited quantities.

Soon after its release, Trader Joe’s fans flocked to the store, and many locations are already reporting sellouts of the product within a day of its launch. People who were lucky enough to find the new insulated tote bag are already posting them for sale on platforms such as eBay. Multiple sellers are listing and selling the bags at premium prices several times higher than the original price.

On eBay, a set of two Trader Joe’s cooler bags is listed at $59.95, and they are generally priced between $40 and $50. A single bag is priced between $25 and $30, nearly ten times the original price.

This comes only a few months after the grocery chain’s $2.99 tote bag became viral. At that time, shoppers’ craze led to skyrocketing demand and higher resale prices. Trader Joe’s has said it will restock the item in the coming summer.
