Rise Kohyang High School is opening at a new location in LA Koreatown.
Rise Kohyang School, the only charter public school in Koreatown serving grades TK through 12, announced that its high school will open in a newly constructed building beginning with the 2024-25 academic year.
Rise Kohyang High School (3500 W. 1st Street, LA), located at Vermont Avenue and 1st Street, will officially open in August.
Prior to that, the school will host tours for newly enrolled families in May, the school announced.
The new high school will feature basketball and volleyball courts and a fully equipped weight room for student use.
There are 23 fully renovated classrooms, all with natural light and views.
Additionally, there is a parent and community center and space for outdoor learning, allowing students to engage in academics, creative activities, and various sports indoors and outdoors, according to the school.
Rise Kohyang Schools opened in 2012 with a middle school, followed by a high school in 2016 and an elementary school in 2019.
Rise Kohyang Elementary and Middle School is located in the Lafayette Park neighborhood (600 S. La Fayette Park Place, LA).
Rise Kohyang charter public school is currently accepting enrollments for grades TK through 12 for the 2024-25 school year. For more information, call (323) 954-9957, ext. 1020 for Korean-speaking representation.
The school is also hosting a Community Breakfast on Wednesday, April 3, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. for community leaders to learn more about the school. Breakfast will be served at the event, and reservations are required.
