Michelle Steel, Young Kim, Dave Min advance to U.S. House run-off

In the recent presidential primaries, four Korean-American candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives advanced to the November run-off.

As of 11 a.m. ET today (March 11), four Korean-American candidates running for Congress have secured their positions in the upcoming run-off, according to the results from the county registrars of voters in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Rep. Michelle Steel (45th District), who is vying for a third term in Congress, currently leads with 55.8 percent of the vote, significantly ahead of her four Democratic opponents.

In the 40th District, Rep. Young Kim has also advanced to the run-off, securing 57.3% of the votes and outpacing her Democratic competitors by a substantial margin.

In the 47th District, Dave Min trailed behind Republican Scott Baugh(32.8%) but advanced to the run-off with 26.2 percent of the vote.

Meanwhile, in the 34th District, which encompasses LA’s Koreatown, David Kim is behind incumbent Jimmy Gomez(51.5%) with 26.2% of the vote. However, he is expected to advance to the run-off.
