Los Angeles Police Department is actively seeking a suspect involved in a widespread act of vandalism in Koreatown, where approximately 30 vehicles were damaged.
The incident, captured on camera, occurred between noon and 3 p.m. on December 4, spanning an area from 4th Street to 7th Street and Westmoreland Boulevard to Virgil Avenue.
Witnesses reported seeing a man armed with a yellow crowbar, consequently smashing windows and denting the bodies of parked vehicles. The suspect’s aggressive behavior extended to being hostile towards bystanders, raising serious concerns for public safety.
The suspect is described as a male, Black, wearing a “Dallas” sweatshirt, black pants, black slippers and carrying a neon green bag. The alarming footage of the vandalism was recorded by resident Michelle Vizcarra from her fourth-floor apartment, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.
The LAPD’s Olympic Area Detectives, who are spearheading the investigation, are urging anyone with information to come forward. Witnesses or those with knowledge about the incident can contact the detectives at 213-382-9370. Anonymous tips can also be submitted at www.lacrimestoppers.org.
As of December 5, no arrests have been made. The police are concerned there may be additional victims of the suspect’s vandalism. The LAPD’s Olympic Division Auto Detectives are intensifying their efforts to identify and apprehend the suspect to prevent further incidents and ensure community safety in Koreatown.
