CicLAvia, the popular car-free streets event, is set to take place in Koreatown on August 20.
According to CicLAvia’s official website (www.ciclavia.org) on July 27, the event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Vine Street, Melrose Avenue, Western Avenue, and Wilshire Boulevard, spanning a total distance of five miles all the way to Hollywood.
During this special occasion, the designated streets will be closed to traffic, inviting participants to enjoy a wide range of activities such as jogging, skateboarding, biking, and leisurely exploration of the car-free roads. Throughout the route, four hubs will be established, offering attendees various amenities and programs, including restrooms, free water fountains, cultural spaces, rides, and much more.
Excitement brews as CicLAvia’s Executive Director, Romel Pascual, shares his thoughts on the event. “The 47th edition of CicLAvia will take place in South Hollywood and Koreatown,” he stated. “Koreatown is one of the most culturally diverse neighborhoods in LA. We are excited to see what it has to offer on this car-free day.”
As a long-standing event, CicLAvia has garnered strong support from the City of Los Angeles and various organizations. Since its inception in 2010, it has hosted 47 events, attracting over 1.8 million people to participate in the 275-mile route.
For those eager to join future CicLAvia events, mark your calendars for September 17 in North Hollywood and October 15 in South LA.
