Girl group IVE will drop “I Want,” a collaborated song with Pepsi, on Thursday.
“‘I Want’ features a simple melody with unique instruments in the background. IVE reinterpreted Pepsi’s brand identity, ‘fun,’ ‘food’ and ‘festa,’ using IVE’s self-confidence in the track,” Pepsi Korea said in a press release on Thursday.
IVE was chosen as Pepsi Zero Sugar’s brand ambassador in Korea this year. Multiple TV advertisements and collaborated events have dropped throughout the year.
Individual members of IVE have a longer history as Pepsi’s brand ambassadors. Yujin was chosen as Pepsi’s brand ambassador in 2021, followed by Wonyoung and Leeseo in 2022.
Consisting of six members — Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz and Leeseo — the girl group debuted in December 2021 with the single “Eleven.” It is best known for hit songs “Eleven,” “Love Dive” and “After Like” (2022).
With its three previous releases, IVE sold over 3 million in album sales and took home a total of 74 trophies in two years. IVE dropped its first full-length album, “I’ve IVE” in April, and the album sold 1.1 million copies in the first week of its release, making IVE the third K-pop girl group to sell over a million albums in the first week of its release.
