It’s a sad irony that hangover is never fun while drinking always is.
Alcohol, being diuretic, stimulates one’ body to dehydrate faster. Such dehydration is followed by thirst, dizziness, headaches, and fatigue in next morning. Unfortunately, there is no magic portion to cure a hangover. Only things you can do is to prevent it by doing the following.
1. Drink clear liquors
Darker alcohols, such as bourbon, whiskey, or dark rum, have denser amount of congeners and create more toxic formaldehyde in the body than lighter, clearer drinks.
2. Avoid champagne
Carbonated alcoholic drinks are found to be faster absorbed, which means that you get drunk faster with greater pains next morning.
3. Drink enough water
As dehydration causes hangover, staying hydrated is one of the best ways to avoid the pain. Not only does it allow some time for your liver to recover, a glass of water before sleep prevents bad mouth smells the next day.
4. Have it on the rock
With the ice melting, your drink will be diluted as you be hydrated more.
5. Eat before your drink
When your stomach is empty, the absorption of alcohol is faster, generating more pain. Consuming fats and carbohydrates prior to drinking will promote slower absorption.
6. Take some vitamins
Vitamins B and C and magnesium supplements help reduce the production of acetaldehyde, which is the main cause of hangover.
7. Do not smoke
Nicotine can add symptoms of headache by releasing more cytokines, which is a chemical that gives you a headache.
