Southern California is hosting its annual event of “Museums Free-For-All” on the 30th of this month. From the most renown ones to perhaps unfamiliar names, around 30 museums all around the Southern 
California area are participating at this event.
There are a few things that you should be aware of before dressing up in fancy, formal attire and leaving your wallet behind. The admission is free, but special exhibitions and parking may not be. There also are places where reservation is a must. To be a smart strategist, you should not consider going to museums that are free during regular hours.
When thinking about the museums in So Cal, the first one to pop in your mind is probably Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Being the largest museum in the West Coast, LACMA boasts its extensive array of world-famous masterpieces. The 340 ton grandiose granite that cost 10 million dollars to transport and the Urban Light consisting 202 pillars that proudly stand are a must-see.
The Getty Center or the Getty Villa are worth visiting, but should not be priorities for the 30th since the admission is always free. On the other hand, The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), which possesses 6800 widely praised pieces, should be considered since the regular admission is $12.
This “Museums Free-For-All” event will provide an opportunity for the newcomers to immerse their first foot in the field of art, or encourage the rest to continue seeking art instead of desolately gazing at the computer screens on their leisurely weekends.
