“Left and Right,” a song by American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth in collaboration with Jungkook of BTS, has been storming global charts since its release last month.
As of 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, the music video in which both singers appear surpassed 100 million views on YouTube since it was released on June 24. As of Thursday morning, the number of views surpassed 103 million.
The song is a pop track that Puth produced, highlighting the funky and bubbly tune with Jungkook and Puth’s vocals.
The music video, directed by Drew Kirsch, revolves around Puth and Jungkook visiting a therapist’s office to help them get over their heartache from their exes.
The video surpassed 10 million views in 12 hours and 16 minutes since its release. It also topped YouTube’s weekly global top music video chart from June 24 to 30.
The song also topped iTunes Top Song charts in 93 regions and debuted at No. 1 on the Global Top 50 chart for Spotify as well. In Billboard, it ranked No. 22 on the Hot 100 chart on July 9 and ranked No. 47 the following week on July 16.
In the past, Jungkook has revealed numerous times in the past that he is a fan of Puth’s music and dropped a cover of Puth’s song “We Don’t Talk Anymore” (2016) on SoundCloud and YouTube, featuring BTS member Jimin, in 2017.
Jungkook and Puth proceeded to perform a duet of the song at the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards.
Originally intended to be released as a solo track in February 2022, it was revealed in June that Jungkook featured on the song.
