Korea and the United States will discuss various channels to strengthen cooperation on semiconductor development, the presidential office announced Thursday.
The announcement was made during a briefing at the presidential office, following questions by reporters about the so-called “Chip 4 Alliance,” an alliance between Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the United States to build a semiconductor supply chain.
“The United States has emphasized the importance of partnerships in the semiconductor sector several times in its supply chain review report released in June last year,” said an official from the presidential office.
Regarding a specific schedule for cooperation on semiconductors, the official said that details are yet to be decided.
