To support the nonprofits in the Korean-American community, Open Bank announced Thursday that it is now accepting applications for the stewardship program.

Applications for Open Bank’s stewardship program is accepted from Oct. 2 to Nov. 30. More information and application form are available on the bank’s website (www.openstewardship.com).

Going into its seventh year, the stewardship program is now strictly focused on promoting its cause rather than serving as a tool to promote a specific organization.

The application process includes review of the paperwork, onsite visits and presentations, followed by a panel of judges for the final decision. The selection will be completed by February of next year. The distribution of funds will be held at the end of March.

“The foundation was established in 2011,” said Open Bank president Min Kim. “It is upgrading in quality every year. We’re going to continue to deliver warmth to our community.”

Meanwhile, 45 nonprofit organizations received a total funding of $366,000 from the program this past March.
