Daylight Savings is starting from March 12, requiring a change of time from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. That changes the time difference between Los Angeles and Korea to 16 hours from the previous 17.
The change will also affect flights to and from Korea at the LAX. Although flights from Korea to L.A. won’t be affected, the ones departing from L.A. will takeoff and arrive an hour later than usual.
The Korean Air flight—KE 018—departing LAX at 11 a.m. from March 12 will be leaving at noon after the change. The 018 flight from LAX will also depart at 12:40 p.m. from March 26 as opposed to the previous noon departure. The flights until March 12 will not be affected, but the KE 012 flight that currently depart at 11:30 a.m. will be taking off at 11:50 a.m. from March 26. A 20-minute delay in departure also means that arrival in Korea is pushed forward by an hour to 5 a.m.
Asiana’s OZ 201 flight departing L.A. will also be delayed to 12:10 p.m. from the previous 11 a.m. takeoff from March 12. The arrival in Incheon for that flight is 5:30 p.m. The OZ 203 flight’s departure time will be kept at 12:20 a.m. on March 12, but the arrival in Korea will be an hour earlier at 5:30 a.m.
