The 44th Los Angeles Korean Festival has ended, showing the power of diversity. Over the 4 days of the festival from October 12 through October 15, thousands of visitors came to enjoy various bits of Korean culture.
On the second day, Chung Hyung Sook Korean Traditional Dance Team and Pumba Team opened the stage with a powerful Korean percussion and dance performance. Stages of Senior Community Center dance team, local artist Solchang, and beatboxer Sungmin followed.
The highlight of the stage was the K-Pop singing and dancing competition, which started at 7 PM. 40 participants from 13 teams showed their talents. K-pop artist Heo Gak and Megan Lee sang beautiful duet songs, announcing the end of the day.
The Agricultural and Marine Products EXPO booths stayed crowded with people as well. Merchants from Korea held booths to promote their products brought all the way from Korea.
“We came from Korea to promote our products at one of the biggest festivals in Los Angeles,” said Um Chang-ho, manager of Samjin Food, Busan’s local fish cake retailer.
Visitors to LA Korean Festival gave positive feedbacks about this year’s event. Especially, Koreans living in Los Angeles find the festival appealing as it brings the atmosphere of Korea every year.
