Miss Universe Korea Jenny Kim (24) was internationally recognized with her smile and communication skills.

On 30th, at the 65th Miss Universe Contest that took place in the Philippines, Kim received the ‘Miss Congeniality’ award. Although Kim could not make it to the 13 finalists list, she was very happy to receive the award saying it is the “most meaningful award”. She received the award because other 85 contestants highly evaluated Kim’s cheerful and good personality.

In the history of Miss Universe’s special awards, Korea has received a total of 4 National Costume awards. However, this year is the first time to receive the Miss Congeniality award. It is because of language barriers.

Jenny Kim is a sophomore at Ewha Womans University double majoring in International Office Administration and English Language and Literature. She went to elementary, middle, and high schools all in Indonesia. At the Indonesia National Museum in Jakarta, she communicated with people of a variety of races and cultures by volunteering as an English interpreter.

Jenny Kim will return to school this spring as a junior.
